Shopping with a friend, n her mum

Assalamu'alaikum,

This afternoon, after Usrah, I went out with Auntie H and Atiqah to Landmark Mall. It was actually an impromptu decision. Atiqah wanted to buy gifts for her friends back in Malaysia. Unlike I, who is in a 4 months intensive semester holiday life (can you believe it? 4 months!),  she only has around a week left before her new semester begins. I've been lazying around for 2 months already and still don't have the desire to go back to university. Who would want a long holiday with your family, all expenses paid for, to end right. Surely not moi!

So yeah, anywhoo~ both the mother and daughter bought many stuff along the way. I'm the one who recommends them to enter H&M, Lush, etc., but in the end, I didn't buy anything from there. Promote shop orang adalah, belinya tidak. Money's not the issue but I'm the type that has the nafsu to splurge only with my mum. If I'm with friends, I like to window shop. Why la? I guess it's because I'm indecisive. It can take me like 5 minutes staring at an item that I want, but when my friends are about to leave the shop, I just change my mind and thought mahal la, nanti membazir pulak kan. Hmm...lain kali la. And ends up not buying anything. And that is not the case when Mama's around. If we go shopping together, hah...semua I nak angkut. If I can, dengan kedai tu skali nak di beli. Manja bebenor~ Well, at least my dad doesn’t have to worry about his money being spent on unnecessary things when I'm in university. Well...not that much anyway.

Back to the story. So after penat jalan2 we went to eat at Wafi Gourmet, a traditional Lebanese cuisine restaurant. Today was the first time I actually ate there. It's quite a high end restaurant with quite a high price tag too but since ada orang belanja, I on je. No tolak-tolak rezeki yang datang bergolek right. Huhuhu~~

Taken @ Wafi Gourmet.
Oh, and at the end, I did buy some stuff. There was a buy 2 free 1 offer @ The Body  Shop. Since it's one of my favourite beauty shop, I can't resist the offer. I just LOVE the tea tree facial foam wash. I've used up 3 bottles already. This time, I decided to try their products for sensitive skin.

Vitamin C Refreshing Face Spritz (QR73) I've always wanted to try this. A little pick me up =)

The food was quite nice. Auntie ordered lamb chops, salad, tabouleh, chicken briyani and lamb majbous (Arab rice). Since there was only 3 of us and the serving was big, and because I didn't eat as much as usual since I'm TRYING to lose weight, kononnye, we had to pack the remaining food. We were so stuffed at the end! JazakAllah Khair Auntie <3 p="p">

I bought this Neutrogena deep clean make-up remover in Carrefour for QR 22. Auntie also belanja I ni. Murah rezeki betul today. I've been looking for a makeup remover wipes and this is the product some people recommend when I searched it up on the net yesterday. So now, when I'm feeling geli-geli...opps, girly-girly gitu, and wants to put on some powder and eyeliner, I have no worries that the water doesn't cover the whole of my face completely when I perform my wudhu'.  Yeyy meee~ (Pronounce it with London Tipton's slang in The Suite Life of Zack n Cody) =D

Of inventions, school & etc. etc. along the way

Assalamualaikum,

Okay, the title probably doesn't make sense since it's a compilation of titles for separate events.
Oh well~Otokajo? (korean konon. perah santan) My plan was to write these individually but what to do, the 'malas-ness' was too strong. So, I'll just summarise what I've been doing from last week up till today in one gigantic post. Check it out y'all.

1001 INVENTIONS [FRIDAY 9.11.12]

Okay, so..ehem..two Fridays ago, while our family was lepaking and chillin' out in the living room, out of the blue, mama brought up the idea of going to see the '1001 inventions by past Muslim civilizations' exhibition @ the Museum of Islamic Art. Dah malam kot so why suddenly maaa? Oh, rupanya the exhibition closes in 2 more days. Even though I never knew that this thing has been going on for around a month in the first place.
So~~after much deliberation between le parents. Skejap, abah penat so malas nak pergi, skejap, mama cakap rugi tak pergi, aiyoo. Last, last, as soon as we got the green light from Abah, we all dressed up gitu-gitu je, ok...dressed down? and rushed out of the house.Okay, fine, not THAT rushed. We went out around an hour later.

We got there after Maghrib. I was imagining the exhibition being outdoor but actually, they set up a tent  for the event. Cool!

As soon as we entered, the usherer told us to quickly take our seats as a short video will be played in less than 5 minutes. Wow, talk about perfect timing. Oh, this is the link to the video we watched at that time. It's basically an introduction of what the so-called 'dark ages' was actually about. Who knew that it wasn't so dark afterall? Now I finally understand what the Golden Age is. Tak faham? Click la link ini ye~

Next, since this is still part one of my super long post, I'll just show some interesting things I found throughout the exhibition.

I'm an engineering student so this is interesting. Though I'm not a civil engineering student but oh well =)

My grandma thought this guy hanging on the ceiling was real. Oh she's so cute

These pictures are interactive screens. That pretty lady in the middle is supposed to be Shifa. The nurse during the time of Caliphate Umar Al-Khattab RA

Olden medical utensils. Can you believe modern hospitals still use these. And can you believe the Muslims are not given credit for these?

Turn your head 90* to the left. Don't know why it doesn't rotate

Arabic words adapted by the West

The Museum of Islamic Art, Doha. The interior is AH-Mazing but we din't go in this time.

That is just a white cloth. The man is on a screen. How cool is that?
My daddy looking through a camera made by a civilization from centuries ago. This paper box is the basis of modern cameras. SubhanAllah!

In front of the 'Elephant clock'. AKA, the United Nations Clock as they call it. Why? Duh, look at the dragon, elephant & that Arab sitting on that elephant. One World concept. LOL.How did the Muslims came up with this idea? Talk about creative!

DC SWIMMING GALA [13.11.12]

So on this day, my sis took part in the swimming gala for the first time @ her school. Well, her school was my former school. Oh,missing those times when all we do was study for the IGCSEs. School felt like such a bore back then and it felt like the subjects couldn't get any tougher but boy was I dead wrong. University life~~ lets not go there.

Anyway~~back to the topic, yeah, it was the swimming gala! I remembered joining the event reluctantly in Yr 7 if I'm not mistaken. There were a couple of races but I decided to do the 'backstroke' And girl...was it embarrassing. Not only was it hard to breathe when the water keeps going up your nose but I also came last too. Now that's unexpected...Not. Oh well, it's a thing of the past anyways. Memory, begone!

Anyway, anyway...this post is not about me. It's about my sis. She's currently in yr 3 and she did 2 races. The horsey noodle (apakah?) relay and the body board race. Once upon a time, when I wasn't that exposed to the world of English vocabs, chewah~, I remembered thinking that the horsey noodle race was a race where the person swims while holding a packet of Maggi in their hand.Don't laugh. I'm dead serious. That's the only kind of noodles I knew back then. And was I wayyy off the mark  =p
DC! This sign wasn't present during my time. :(

Yellow bench. Our place once upon a time.  GO UNICORN GO!
Mayra getting ready for the Maggi noodle race. Or was it horsey noodle?

Wow! what happened to the astroturf. I remember playing tennis here when the grass was not installed yet.
Feelin' a little nostalgic. Many things have changed since year 11

Having breakfast @ The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf after the Gala with mama & nyaie

Mine! Break O' Day

Khalas! Finished. And what a long post it was. =D
